Biography

Dr. Te-Chuan Chiu is currently an assistant professor at the Department of Computer Science, National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), Taiwan. Before that, he served as a postdoctoral research scholar at the Research Center for Information Technology Innovation (CITI), Academia Sinica, Taiwan. He has been a research scholar at the School of Electrical, Computer, and Energy Engineering, Arizona State University (ASU), USA, in 2016-2017, and at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of California, Davis (UCD), USA, in 2022. He received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Information Engineering from National Taiwan University (NTU), Taiwan. His primary research interests include B5G/6G communications, edge intelligence/AI, fog/edge computing, and AIoT.

Dr. Chiu was a recipient of the Graduate Students Study Abroad Program from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and the Best Master's Thesis/Doctoral Dissertation Award from the Institute of Information & Computing Machinery (IICM) jointly. He was elected Outstanding Youth of National Taiwan University and a member of the Phi Tau Phi Scholastic Honor Society of the Republic of China. He has been elected as a 2021 Academia Sinica Postdoctoral Research Associate on behalf of CITI. Recently, he has been honored with 2022 Pan Wen-Yuan Exploration Research Award, 2024 Taiwan Association of Cloud Computing (TACC) Distinguished Young Scholar, 2023-2024 TACC Best Journal Paper Award, 2024 EECS Junior Researcher Award, 2025 NTHU Foundation for the Advancement of Outstanding Scholarship, 2026 IICM Best Master’s Thesis Advisor Award, and 2026 Fulbright EMI Visiting Scholar on behalf of NTHU.
